The Horses of Trodaire
Not everything at Trodaire Farms is about the cows. Produced along side the Idaho Heritage Beef is a unique yet symbiotic relationship, the horses of Trodaire.
Anne Mitchell knew she had the perfect place to raise beef cattle, so why not extend the philosophies of range life to Off The Track Thoroughbreds? The Trodaire Farms philosophy when bringing along a new horse is simple: Anne wants to provide riders with a safe, sane, broke horse that riders can go have fun on, get a ribbon, smile, laugh and learn. Anne sees too many Off The Track Thoroughbreds leave the track and never get the actual chance to let down and be a horse. They need to be restarted in a manner that allows them to be confident in themselves. She picks a few horses every year that are brought along as if they are going to be her personal competition horse. They get everything the need at Trodaire Farms and Anne’s complete attention to their education. They are not a number when they graduate from the program. When they are ready for their new homes, they are branded as a Trodaire horse. They are confident, balanced and physically and emotionally ready to take their new partner on amazing adventures.

“The power of a proper let down, a structured fitness program, the ability to just be out and be a horse and Grand Meadows as our daily one and done supplement is what creates the building blocks to success for the Trodaire Horses.”

Moose
Hill Top Farms GK Calucci (Holsteiner) x Ruby Tea (TB)
Moose is ready to head for employment. Has been raised in the mountains, literally. Upon weaning was turned out in a band of other stud colts for 6 months on the range. Brought home and handled. Stands for the farrier, gentlemen for the vet and with shots, ties to anything and will wait patiently. Loads, trailers easy. Easy to catch, currently lives on 50 acres with cattle and always first for a cookie. Easy keeper. And I mean EASY. Has never had shoes, no need to at this point and has solid, tough feet. No lameness issues. Really a sweet little boy. Has the best of both breeds in this package. Shows an immense amount of potential and a wonderful mind to go right along with it. Has been brought along in a manner that literally you can take and start, he has had a consistent education all spring and summer meshing into the program. -

Bells is a 16.2 2017 bay OTTB gelding
The brain and willingness on this boy is what is most special and will do him well whatever career he heads towards. Properly let down for three months post track, as in turned out on 15 acres of grass in a herd of four others and rotated into the bigger pastures with cattle. He has been on a consistent farrier program, supplement program, teeth floated, UTD on vaccine, and into a consistent workout program. Same horse away as he is at home. Lunges like a gentleman. Ties, stands for the farrier like a statue, easy to catch. Loads on stock trailer and side load ramp trailer. Hacks out alone. Not a worrier in a warm up area. Totally game and takes jumping seriously and such a fun jump to ride! Exposed to all that ranch life entails, literally. Ridden english and western, yes with a back cinch and he has never had a problem. And let’s be real, he is pretty nice on the eyes! No buck, bite, rear or bolt. He has been a lovely horse to re-start and one I am so proud to offer. -
